Art in a Sacred Space

Wisdom of the Noth

Intuitive Painting & Meditation Workshop

Sunday the 23rd of Jan, 3-5pm

Online

An invitation to explore the energies of the Winter season through the creative process and the guidance of the Medicine Wheel. The workshop includes intuitive painting, journaling, and a shamanic guided meditation.

The Winter season invites us to move inward, to pause and contemplate all the aspects of our life. Nature offers a quiet cocoon for new ideas and projects that can gently grow underground. We are guided to move deep inside our heart space and find there what requires our attention.

The Medicine Wheel is a ancient tool or system explored by the Native American tradition. It follows the movement of Nature, the movement of creation, the rotation of the Sun and the changing of the seasons. The Medicine Wheel can help us to better understand ourselves, how we function as human beings, and to explore life to a deeper level.

We will work with the Medicine Wheel connected to the Navajo tradition, but please feel free to follow your own inner guidance and tradition. There is no right or wrong way to approach this workshop, the only requirement is an open heart.

Creating art in a sacred space allows us to go a little bit deeper and embrace our creative potential. The sacred space supports us and holds us tightly so that we can move through the entire process with ease and grace.

Please make sure that you have some acrylic paint (primary colours) and some paper. Normally we work on A2/A3 but you can also stick a few A4 together with some masking tape. Oil pastels and crayons can work too, however some paint will allow more freedom during the process.

Guidelines for online painting workshops - What do you need?

Acrylic paint (primary colours: yellow, red, blue, white and black)

Paper for painting (A2 if possible) - Lining paper is also fine

Paintbrushes (different sizes)

Towel (paper or fabric)

A bowl of water, to clean your paintbrushes

Sponges (optional)

Plastic container/palette for the paint (a plate or any plastic container can also work)

Newspapers or cardboard, plastic sheet to cover the table/floor/wall (newspapers are a good option to cover the wall)

A quiet space where you won't be disturbed (create a relaxing space, maybe use some incense or light a candle..)

A wall or a door where you can hang your paint (if you don't have that you can also paint on a table or on the floor)

Masking tape (to hang the paper on the wall)

A little table for the materials
